Thank you for purchasing Arakitronics. This Read Me section includes the step-by-step instructions not explained in the manual. Please be sure to read these instructions so that you can fully enjoy this product.
====== SYSTEM EXTENSION INSTALLATION
The "QuickTime 2.1" is included in the 'To Your System' folder in the CD-ROM.
Drag the QuickTime Icon to your system folder, and restart your Macintosh.
If you have a Power Macintosh, you will need to install the QuickTime Power Plug.
(You must restart your system in order to activate these files.)
====== SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
* Macintosh 68040 CPU or above
* System 7.1 or above
* At least 5MB must be available in memory
(5.5MB required for use with PowerMacintosh)
* 13 inches color monitor, a system capable of displaying 16-bit colors (32,000 colors) or above(1,670 million colors suggested)
* Double speed CD-ROM drive
* QuickTime 2.0 (QuickTime PowerPlug required for use with PowerMacintosh)
===== NOTICE
・ Arakitronics is designed for 13 inches color monitor. If you have a monitor other than 13 inches (640 x480 pixels), you may not be able to display an image.
・ Arakitronics requires 24 bit color data, and an environment where 32,000 colors (16 bit) display. (In order to display full-color, 24 bit color board or supportable system is required.)
・ Arakitronics requires QuickTime JPEG for the screen compression, and the QuickTime (ver. 2.0 or above) need to be installed. If you do not already have QuickTime 2.0, please install the QuickTime 2.1 which is included in our CD-ROM. If you have a Power Macintosh, you will need to install the QuickTime Power Plug.
・ 5MB of memory is allocated in the Arakitronics program. At least 5MB of memory must be available to run this program properly.
・ 5MB of memory is assigned to the content. In order the product to perform in adequate speed, it is recommended to copy "Arakitronics" to your hard disk and increase its application memory. (It is necessary the CD-ROM is inserted in the drive at the time.)
・ This program performs best without unnecessary INIT or extension in the systems folder.
・ If you have a "System 7.1" or above, please turn off your virtual memory and turn on 32 bit addressing.
・ If you have a PowerMacintosh, turn off the Modern Memory Manager.
・ To start, double click the icon. (If you start by any other methods, it may not run properly.)
・ To exit, press command+Q key.
============= Arakitronics OPERATIONS
Instruction for Arakitronics:
・ There are two programs for "Arakitronics"; one for 68k Macintosh, and the
other for power Macintosh User.
68k Macintosh: double click "Arakitronics for 68K."
Power Mac User: double click "Arakitronics for ppc."
"ARAKITRONICS" consists of three modes; the ARAKITRONICS, the Suggested Order
Movie, and the Footage Index.
ARAKITRONICS:
This mode enables viewers to see a slide show which includes the best 250
photographs, selected from over 1500 shots.
Footage Index:
This mode enables viewers to access the desired photographs in Araki's
shooting sequence. Selections can be made from 27 different thumb-nail
movies. Slide up and down the footage screen in a vertical fashion to
reveal more thunb-nail movie selections. Viewer can see the images in slow
motion by placing the mouse on the selected image. Selected frames can be
viewed in full size at any time by double clicking the mouse over the
selected frame. The enlarged image will be followed by a slide show of the
selected images. During the slide-show, pressing the tab key to display
"thumb-nail" can be used in the same way as the index function, to select
desired photographs.
Suggested Order Movie
This mode enables viewers to see photographs, taken from a selection of
over 1500 shots, in random order. Every time this selction is made the
ramdom order of the photographs changes as does the sequence of the
photographs.
